Hello folks!

It’s been a long hiatus from writing on ScarletMels.com. Way too long. I’m not even sure how the days were filled; they were such a blur. But time has slowed down long enough to take stock of where we are headed: back to Canada.

Yep, we’re heading back to the Tee-Dot in just two short weeks. It is sooner than originally planned, and we’re looking forward to seeing our family. But it will be tough saying goodbye to Thailand. They say that when you’re an expat, your friends become your family. In that vein, we have expanded our “family”, and how! Amazing and wonderful friends from Brazil, Venezuela, Sweden, France, Fiji, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, and of course, Thailand. Interestingly, no Canadians. Go figure.

In between repatriation arrangements and getting our stuff organized, we have attended a few farewell get-togethers, and will surely squeeze in a couple more before we travel. Draw it out, you know, in true GT fashion. Kiss and hug everyone at least twice, gyaff, decline then accept a last drink, gyaff some more, and say yes to a doggie bag, before finally leaving the place.

As for ScarletMels.com, there’s more to write, have no fear! I’ll keep posting stories about our time in Thailand until I run out of things to say… which could take a while… snicker, snicker.
